Spring lesson learned: Every flower has its own time to bloom

The flower sprout, the tiny little colour on the ground among the brown field and the grey sky brought so much joy as it signified that spring is coming. In other words, it tells us that this winter is ending soon — these long, cold, gloomy nights will soon end.

As someone living in Sweden, we deal with winter more than just snow. It’s about coping with the gloomy days, the seasonal depression, the loooooooong night, and just the overall mood of wanting to stay in bed much, much longer and be more laid back. The tiny sprout of a flower switched the mood instantly.

As much as sometimes snow and gloomy days come again with the still lingering cold days, every bloom of flowers could make our day, as it signifies that the longer days are coming. Yet, there I am, realising, not all flowers bloom at the same time, even when it’s spring. And even when it’s the same type of flower, they don’t even bloom together.

Each and every flower blooms on its own time,

and taking this as a life lesson,

each and every one of us blooms on our own time.
